Joy Melody Lechner, MSOM, L.Ac.
Joy became passionate about women’s health in 2006 when she began working for a physician who specialized in alternative medicine and fertility. Joy attended the Phoenix Institute of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and graduated with a four-year master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. In 2008 she did a fertility internship. Since then she has devoted herself to specialized care in the fields of fertility and pregnancy.
Joy is licensed, nationally board-certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and insured. Her master’s program included both Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, and her approach is a careful blend of Eastern and Western Medicine. She utilizes nutrition and botanical medicine in treating a variety of health concerns including infertility, PCOS, digestive issues, mood disorders, immune support, headaches, thyroid and hormonal imbalance, preconception planning and care, and repeated pregnancy loss to name a few. Joy also treats clients for pregnancy-related aches and pains, labor preparation and follow-up postpartum care.
Joy started Nourished Roots, LLC in 2013 to provide a healing space for those in search of total well-being in body, mind, and spirit. Her mission is to empower women and couples to take back their health and fertility through evidenced-based care and support. Nourished Roots is a safe haven for those needing support on all levels.
Joy experienced her own health challenges with thyroid imbalance and miscarriage in 2010- 2012. After the birth of her first son in 2011, she experienced acupuncture as a necessary modality for healing in a complex health system. She was able to unload test results, doctor’s opinions, thoughts, concerns, and questions all during a session and leave feeling heard, understood, and supported. These years were some of the most challenging of her life as she was given a confusing diagnosis after a biopsy all while being a new mom and wife. She has brought a new awareness, compassion, and empathy to her practice since. She is here to be a safe, healing space for you to bring your health concerns and to formulate a total wellness plan to help you meet your goals.
She has the pleasure of regularly performing acupuncture treatments at Advanced Fertility Care, Bloom Reproductive, the Fertility Treatment Center, Arizona Associates of Reproductive Health, New Direction Fertility Centers, and Boston IVF–The Arizona Center, using the pre- and post-acupuncture protocol for IVF (in vitro fertilization) published in the reproductive journal Fertility and Sterility. She enjoys collaborating with and referring to other physicians as necessary for complete, holistic care.
Joy grew up in the desert with her family at a children’s home on 100 acres in Mesa that had been founded by great-grandparents. Her parents who worked there in multiple capacities, raised her to have an appreciation and curiosity for natural medicine and a healthy lifestyle. When growing up, if her and her two sisters were sick they were given garlic and onions with a touch of cayenne and directed to walk barefoot in our backyard desert to stimulate acupressure points that boost the immune system. That was the beginning of my lifelong passion for natural healing.
Her mother and father always encouraged her to discover her true gifts and passions, to follow these to create a life of purpose and, above all, service to others. She studied psychology, violin performance, and massage therapy as an undergraduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She played violin in various professional orchestras throughout college and beyond and had her own private violin teaching studio for 13 years.
When she returned home after graduation with her undergraduate degree, her parents suggested she have a session with their acupuncturist to get revitalized and energized. She found the intake thorough and the treatment that day excellent. She loved how the practitioner incorporated nutrition and herbs into the treatment plan.
She has always had a passion for nutrition and for babies. She loves the miracle and sacred path that is pregnancy and adores babies. As it turned out, the acupuncturist specialized in fertility and pregnancy. She was completely fascinated. At the time, she was soul- searching and praying about what her next step would be. She had an aha! moment of total inspiration. She realized that helping couples have healthy babies was her life path and purpose.
In her clinic, her focus is on women’s health and preconception care for couples. She treats all types of infertility issues, including unexplained infertility, PCOS, endometriosis, male-factor difficulties, poor egg quality, and hormonal imbalance. Joy is passionate about supporting couples on their journey to motherhood. One of her favorite parts of this work is seeing the mind-body connection strengthen as stress and emotional tension melt away.
Outside of the clinic, Joy enjoys hiking regularly on south mountain, yoga, music, photography, spending time with family and reading.
Joy lives in Ahwatukee, AZ and her practice are in Tempe, AZ. Joy is married and loves being a mom to her three sweet boys.
She would love to be a part of your fertility team or help you find a greater sense of ease and well-being in your everyday life. Want to know how Joy can help? Book an initial free 15 min. phone consultation and get support.

Chloe Dove, L.Ac, Dip. OM (NCCAOM)
Chloe is a nationally board-certified, licensed acupuncturist and clinical herbalist. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University.
She then went on to complete her 4 year Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA. During her training she felt called to a speciality in fertility and women’s health. She attended extra seminars outside of regular schooling to deepen her knowledge about Chinese Medicine and its uses and applications with fertility and women’s health. She is passionate about helping women feel empowered about their health and bodies. She thinks the creation of life is an absolute miracle and feels honored to help families grow.
After dealing with her own digestive issues for years, she came to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for help and was transformed by the treatments she received. She learned how to listen to the signs her body was telling her and felt empowered about her own health for the first time. This helped spark her desire to study this medicine to share with others. She began to see other areas of her life be transformed through Chinese Medicine and has a deep passion for helping others along their healing journeys as well.
In her free time she loves being in nature and hiking all around Arizona with her husband. She loves being active, such as taking a pilates or yoga class, or hopping on the Peloton. She can often be found reading or doing a puzzle with her husband and their two cats.
